Producer-Singer-Songwriter Laura Wood will perform at Common Ground at 7:30pm Saturday January 12th. Admission is $10.00 at the door.
As a singer-songwriter, Laura Wood has won audiences in Provincetown, Boston, New York City, Fire Island and her own Band in Northampton, MA and Saratoga Springs, NY . In Provincetown, MA she was a featured jazz act at the famous "Crown and Anchor" in June 2005. In Key West, Florida, she was featured with Rocker Adrienne at Jimmy Buffet's Conch Republic Restaurant and with the wonderful vocalist and keyboardist Lenore Troia at the La Te Dah restaurant and Cabaret for a Key West Tourism Video shown on US Cable Networks.She has been compared to Basia, Diana Krall, and k.d.lang, with salsa and bossa thrown in. A self-producer and arranger, her Cd release "South Station Slide" has recently been chosen for national distribution through the independent distributor, Synergy Distribution in Denver, Colorado, and is also for sale through www.cdbaby.com.
